Titleist Golf Performance

What is the Titleist Performance Institute?

The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world leader in studying how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible.
Titleist has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.
T.P.I. doesn’t believe in only one way to swing a club, instead there are an infinite number of swing styles. Using research from the worlds top golfers, they’ve broken down the golf swing into 12 major characteristics:
  • S-Posture (25.3%)
  • C-Posture (33.1%)
  • Loss of Posture (64.3%)
  • Flat shoulder plane(45.2%)
  • Early extension (64.3%)
  • Over-the-top (43.5%)
  • Sway (37.2%)
  • Slide (31.4%)
  • Reverse Spine Angle (38.5%)
  • Hanging Back (32.2%)
  • Casting/Early Release (55.9%)
  • Chicken Winging (35.6%)
These 12 swing characteristics have a strong relationship to a person’s physical ability to move through their golf swing efficiently.
T.P.I. focuses on what each player can physically do, rather than focusing on one right way to swing the club. This approach enables us to determine how your physical condition may affect your golf swing.

How can working with TPI improve your golf game?

By working with us using the TPI method, we can determine how your physical movements are affecting your golf score. Understanding and correcting any physical limitations you may have will enable you to take your game to the next level.
As a golfer himself, Dr. Eyerly understands the “Body-Swing Connection” and its importance for improving your game.
Golfers can benefit from learning about how they can improve their movement patterns and how that can help improve their game.

What is a session with Dr. Eyerly like?

During the first session, you can expect a physical evaluation of the way you move. Using the TPI method we will create a baseline of your flexibility, posture, strength, and coordination.
Upon completion of your assessment, we will develop a plan for you to improve in the areas you need improvement. We will work closely with your golf coach/pro during this phase focusing on your swing style and body type.
Once your plan is established, you will have the option to train under the direction of Dr. Eyerly focusing on proper movement mechanics.
We will establish efficient movement patterns so you can get into, and stay in, proper golf posture. This will translate into increased strength and flexibility throughout your swing.
Finally, we will assess your physical movement patterns and compare them to your original baseline. Once you’re able to move more efficiently, you will have built the foundation to improve your game.

If you want to become a better golfer with more consistency and power, this is the program for you!
